大连工业大学艺术设计学院创建于1985年，是我国较早开设艺术设计类专业的院校之一。学院依托学校以工为主的背景，坚持以“专业创新、校内协作、社会联动、国际融合”为原则，以艺术与科技融合为内涵、以设计服务与科研项目为平台，主动适应辽宁省经济发展对设计人才需要的体现，以建设特色鲜明的应用型专业学院为战略目标。学院以艺为主，工、理、文、艺相结合，形成设计、文化、艺术、科技等多元融合与创新发展的定位优势。

学院现有环境设计、视觉传达设计、数字媒体艺术、产品设计、风景园林、美术学、雕塑、艺术与科技等8个专业，其中环境设计、视觉传达设计2个专业是辽宁省优势特色专业，同时视觉传达设计专业是辽宁省综合改革试点专业，环境设计专业是辽宁省转型示范专业。现有设计学、美术学2个硕士学位授权一级学科，有艺术设计、风景园林2个专业硕士学位授权点。

学院现有教职员工180人，专任教师150人，其中教授12人，副教授36人，享受国务院特殊津贴专家1人，辽宁省普通高等学校专业带头人1人，辽宁省特聘教授2人，辽宁省高等学校教学名师2人，辽宁省“百千万人才工程”千人层次1人，辽宁省普通高校优秀青年骨干教师1人，享受大连市政府特殊津贴人员2人，大连市优秀专家1人，大连市领军人才1人，大连市领军后备人才1人，现有在校全日制本科学生3432名，硕士研究生543名，留学生2人。

学院拥有辽宁省艺术与科技虚拟仿真实验教学中心1个，中央与地方共建实验室2个。辽宁省高等学校创新团队1个。有艺术与科技研究院、大学生创新创业实训基地以及实践教学中心，优势资源保障学院各专业转型需求。学院近5年共承担国家自然科学基金项目、教育部人文社科项目、国家艺术基金项目、国家艺术科学规划基金项目等国家级项目6项；发表研究论文254篇。

艺术设计学院经过多年的积累，取得了一定成绩。2006年，被辽宁省教育厅评为“艺术设计紧缺人才培养基地”；2007年，艺术设计专业被评为“辽宁省特色专业”；艺术设计生态教学团队被评为“省级教学团队”；2008年，设计艺术学被评为“辽宁省重点学科”，同年获批“辽宁省实验教学示范中心”；学院被教育部、财政部评为2009年度艺术设计生态教学体系人才培养模式创新实验区。2012年《艺术设计学科基础教程》获得首批“十二五”普通高等教育本科国家级规划教材书目，2014年《环境艺术设计工程量清单与计价》获得第二批“十二五”普通高等教育本科国家级规划教材书目，在2014年在中国科学评价研究中心（RCCSE）与中国科教评价网联合发布的中国研究生教育排行榜中，学院研究生教育在全国131所开办设计学专业的院校中排名第14位。设计艺术学专业被评为A级，进入全国相同专业前5%的领先行列。2014年在辽宁省教育厅发布的本科专业综合评价结果中，学院环境设计专业综合排名第1名，视觉传达设计专业综合排名第2名，产品设计专业综合排名第4名。2017年全国第四轮学科评估中设计学被评为C+的成绩。

学院在国际化办学的总体规划指导下，积极开展对外交流与合作。先后与英国、法国、日本、意大利、俄罗斯、芬兰、澳大利亚、韩国、加拿大、美国等一些知名院校和国际企业建立了友好合作关系，并互派留学生。积极开展多种形式的合作办学，进行互访、举办国际论坛、作品联合展演等。2013年、2014年连续举办国际艺术与科技节，2017年与日本金泽工艺美术大学在21世纪美术馆联合展等活动，吸引了大批国内外专家学者到访，受到了艺术设计界的广泛关注。

(Introduction to )The Academy of Arts & Design

 

The Academy of Arts & Design, Dalian Polytechnic University was founded in 1985, among the earlist universities that started art programs.  Building on the engineering advantages of Dalian Polytechnic University, the academy puts forth the concepts as “Constant Innovation on programs, collaboration within and without the university, and fusion with the world”. Blending art with science and technology, taking advantages of design services and research projects, it meets the demands of art professionals for the economic development of Liaoning province guided by the strategic goal of constructing applied academy with distinctive  features. So far, it has come to be an arts & design school collaborating with engineering, sciences and liberal arts, and formed an advantageous positioning of innovative development and multi-integration of design, culture, art and technology.

The Academy has 8 programs as Environmental Design, Visual Communication Design, Digital Media Arts, Product Design, Landscape Architechture, Fine Arts, Architecture and Art & Science, among which Environmental Design and Visual Communication Design are awarded as the Superior Program with Characteristics of Liaoning Province. In addition, Visual Communication Design is also awarded as Pilot Program of Provincial Comprehensive Reform , Environmental Design Provincial Model  Program of Transformation. Currently, Design Science and Fine Arts are programs of First-level Discipline of Master’s Degree Authorization, Arts & Design and Lanscape Architecture the two professional master degree authorizations.

Currently,there are 3432 full-time undergraduate students, 543 graduate students and 2 international students in the Academy. It has 150 full-time teachers among 180 faculty and staff, of whom 12 are professors, 36 associate professors, one receives the State Council special allowance, one got the title of Academic Leader of Higher Education of Liaoning Province, 2 Endowed Chair Prefessors of Liaoning Province,  2 teaching masters of Higher Education of Liaoning Province, 1 Thousand level of Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project of Liaoning province, 1 Excellent Young Key Teacher of Higher Education of Liaoning Province, 2 receive government special allowance of Dalian, 1 Excellent Expert of Dalian,  1 Dalian Talent Leader, 1 Dalian Talent Reserve Leader.

The Academy has 1 virtual simulation lab for arts & technology, 2 labs co-constructed by the central and local governments, 1 Innovation Team of Higher Education of Liaoning Province, 1 Research Institute of Arts & Technology, 1 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Base and 1 Practice Learning Center. All of these high quality resources guarantee the transition requirements of all specialties of the Academy.  In the recent five years, the Academy has undertaken 6 research or teaching projects of NSFC, Social Science Projects of Education Ministry, Arts Foundation of China, Art Science Planning Foundation of China, and 254 papers have been published.

The Academy of Arts & Design has been accomplishing achievements built on years of hard work. In 2006, it was awarded the Training Base for Urgently Needed Arts & Design Professionals by Liaoning Province Education Administration; in 2007, Arts & Design was appraised as Characteristic Program of Liaoning Province and the Arts & Design Ecology Teaching Team the Provincial Teaching Team; in 2008, Science of Arts & Design was appraised as Key Discipline of Liaoning Province and the Experiment Teaching Demonstration Center of Liaoning Province; in 2009, The Academy was named as Innovative Experimental Zone of Cultivating Talents Mode of the Arts & Design Ecology Teaching Scheme  by National Ministry of Education and Finance; in 2012, the textbook, Fundamentals of Science of Arts & Design, was selecte into the first “the Twelfth Five-Years Plan” National Planned Textbooks List for Higher Education; in 2012, Bills of Quantities and Pricing in Environmental Design was selected into the second “the Twelfth Five-Years Plan” National Planned Textbooks List for Higher Education; in 2014, in the Ranking of postgraduate education in China released by RCCSE and www.nseac.com, the postgratuate program of the Academy ranked 14th among the 131 universities and colleges, with the program of Arts & Design ranking A, which stands in the first 5% of the similar programs nationwide. Still in 2014, Environmental Design ranked the 1st in the undergrauate’ programs appraisal released by  Liaoning Province Education Administration, Visual Communication Design the 2nd, and Product Design the 4th. In 2017, Science of Design was appraised as C+ in the fourth national discipline review.

Under the guidance of holistic planning of education internationalization, the Academy has been taking active steps to be engaged in overseas exchanges and cooperation, and established friendly relations of cooperation with a good number of international enterprises  and prestigeous universities and colleges from UK, France, Japan, Italy, Russia, Finland, South Korea, Canada, and US, etc. A variety of cooperation have been adopted, such as exchange students, exchange visits, holding international forums, joint works exhibition. In 2013 and 2014, the Academy held Festival of International Arts & Technology, and in 2017, co-held with Kanazawa College of Art Joint Works Exhibition in the 21th Century Gallery. These various activities have attracted numerous experts and scholars domestic and overseas, and received much attention in the field of arts and design.
